After pushing himself to learn the techniques behind digital photography, Jeff began to realize a focus on natural light and the dramatic effect that could be achieved. An avid music fan, his transition into photography started by working hard at covering the local scene, which soon presented the opportunity to capture a large number of up and coming acts and later a growing list of internationally renowned bands. His exploration with photography has taken shape over the last year and an interest in refining technique and promoting creativity has been growing strongly all the while.
Concert photography introduced Jeff to the excitement in capturing emotion and lead to an interest in portraits. The dynamic nature found in live action photography is an obvious attraction, however it is a fairly passive type of image capture lacking many elements of creative control. Jeff has branched out into portrait and commercial photography to take a more active role in the process of creating more engaging imagery and it shows in all areas of his work.
